Custom Painting and Air BrushingThe slide show lets you know I’ve painted everything:
As with anything a person goes to do, practice does make a difference! Services vary from small repair jobs to complete frame off restorations and can include traditional flames, true fire or silhouette murals. My preference is to use House of Kolors urethanes but I do have other sources depending on your budget. I always start with an epoxy primer/sealer and then either a single stage or two stage urethane top coat/clear coat with a final color sand and buff to a glass finish. Custom AirbrushingI started airbrushing over 30 years ago. About 15 years ago, I picked up a 1985 Nissan 300ZXTurbo and restored it mechanically. I did all the bodywork then repainted it with a base coat red and clear coat. The result was pretty much a brand new car! For many years I used the Paasche line of airbrushes until I was introduced to the Iawata line at a Mike Lavallee workshop I attended in California . I’ve been fascinated with Mike Lavallee ’s “True Fire” painting style for years. When Mike released his first 'how to' dvd I think I watched it at least 50 times. My first "True Fire" project was a 1992 Harley Davidson Ultra Electra Glide classic. I should have started on something with a lot fewer panels! |
