Colorado Restorations

Restores Everything

I have never met a motor I could not make run! I have always enjoyed working on, repairing and restoring almost anything. My philosophy, in most cases, to to stay as true as possible to the original, “stock” product. Some of the items I have restored to “like new” condition include:

  • 1985 Nissan 300ZX Turbo
  • Various motorcycles and mini bikes
  • “Harley Davidson” and “Denver Broncos” themed refrigerators (Custom themes available on request)
  • Hit Miss” motors manufactured in the ‘30s and ‘40s
  • "Cathedral” style antique radios

Equipment Restoration

In addition to completely restoring the “Hit Miss” motors, I have built a number of Ice Cream Makers with these motors and have another larger motor I plan on building into a mini “antique” style tractor.

Another area I have dabbled in is restoring old fridges. Although I have only done a couple I think they turned out real nice, one a Harley Davidson theme and another a Denver Broncos theme. Many power companies wrongly tell people they need to dispose of these old fridges because they are 'power hogs' but in fact they are not. If the door seals are good or replaced and the insulation is good those old units run less than 5 minutes out of every 30 minutes and are so much quieter than my new one it would amaze you.

The old 'cathedral' style radios of which I have maybe a half a dozen and have restored at least another half a dozen. I usually like to start with the electrical and get the radio actually working good again, then proceed to repairing and restoring the cabinet. There is something about sitting and listening to one of those old radios, thinking about what people must have heard, all gathered around to hear the news after supper. It almost gives me chills sometimes.
